was thinkin how odd it is for these 2 to have a song that starts w a full minute+ of contemplative breakbeat lol. hopefully he experiments like that on the album. everyone is already preemptively ready to call it mid, might as well take every creative risk

idk man i feel like it's hard to give him any credit for being "experimental" when he just lets that ride out for a minute and then it goes into a song that sounds like exactly what you would expect from a roddy ricch lil baby song

to me that's completely on the producers for cooking up something cool and then roddy just does nothing with it

obviously its not experimental. i dont even wanna call it avant garde now. BUT its obviously f***ing out the norm to start a song like that for an artist like either. nobody is letting a beat like that ride out that long esp wen u got a baby feature.

beat selection is just as much a rapper skill as it is a producer one. i dont think he just hears that go on for a minute and doesnt have a say in whether that gets cut or not before the song is published.

I'm guessing the album is in label hell, they probably don't have any confidence he has a hit on it so it's never coming out lol

not saying beat selection isn't a skill or that having a long intro isn't a risk as far as streaming numbers go but AS A RAPPER i'm going to give him credit for picking a cool instrumental and doing nothing with it

imo, i'm not going to praise a rapper for picking a good interlude or skit too much

Live Life Fast was honestly a very enjoyable album. Hope he can get this out and have heaters on it to revive his status and career.
