    Is the map public

If you look into the gta 6 mapping project you’ll see the most recent estimations. A bunch of super clever super next level turbo nerds have been using the leaks and the trailers to graft together a really comprehensive sketch of how the map will probably look. They did this with prior rockstar games and have been very accurate.

Here’s what they had in 2022, based on the leaked footage and nothing else

And here’s what they have today

So things evolved but they’re obviously on the right track and are probably 90+% right, although they admit that the large areas of empty green stuff is just stuff that’s impossible to estimate or fill in based on trailers and so they can’t really fill it in accurately.

Going off the comparisons from the people mapping the game, the main city portion of the map is like half the size of RDR2.

  • rdr2 had like 0.5 buildings per square mile bro

I really really really hope that GTA VI is a mix of GTA IV, San Andreas and rdr 2.
    I'll explain:
Like GTA IV in terms of the darker tone, great characters and immersion of the city

San Andreas in terms of the the sprawling epicness of the world and all of the extra activities and rpg elements

Finally rdr 2 because of the amazing graphics, physics, and realism and sim feel. Doesn't have to be as slow as this obviously and it's a modern day setting but a good mix will be great

I don't need any inspiration from 5 tbh except an improvement on switching character speed

I really freaking hope the story isn't super super silly the entire way. I want some conflict.

Just went back and looked at some screenshots and man this s*** looks so incredible. Crazy how most open world games don't look as good as their linear counterparts for the most part, but GTA is different. It's going to be this huge open world with all this s*** and still look better than the best of linear single player games. That's wild. I wish the rage engine was available for the public to use to try and make their own games instead of just the damn unreal s*** and unity

Man I remember the freaking jump from GTA v/rdr to rdr 2 when they showed the first screenshots of rdr 2. It was like wtf there's no way the game will look that good. Ended up looking better that's nuts

    These in particular for me

They’ve got the Florida vibe down

Honestly I’d be totally down for a smaller map if it meant more density and more interiors.

Man the first and third shots are nuts. All the little details, draw distance and npcs

I would as well. Tbh I think there will be a decent amount of interiors this time along with a pretty big map. Rockstar is known for pushing the hardware to it's absolute limit. They know we want more interiors especially after how lacking V was in that department.

I went to Miami last week for work and it’s crazy how close some screenshots come to the real thing

It’s really almost 1:1 sometimes from what they’ve shown. Could swear I drove down the street in the third pic. Basketball court and everything

Replace RDR2 with updated gameplay/shooting from Max Payne 3 and I agree completely

yea plus mad games released over the years have massive maps so its been proven that the current gen console can handle expansive, detailed, quality maps.

i do think the amount of npc’a we see in these images are exaggerated tho. like the one at the beach with all those people, that has to be a cut scene or something theres no way.

Ngl, I don't think the game can have the level of detail showed in the screenshots/trailers we've seen so far on PS5, maybe even PS5 Pro. Rockstar the best in the business but I don't think this level of detail is possible in actual gameplay with everything else they'll have going on in the game
