this is very likely the formula

but real talk, I think they try to squeeze out RDR3 sooner than later with its fanbase being a bit older compared to other titles. That game was made for people that are now in their 30s-40s

rockstar isn’t squeezing out s*** let alone their second biggest franchise

the biggest thing we’ll get from rockstar outside gta online updates this decade will be a rdr 2 60fps update IF we get that

the money they’ll make on gta iv on console is so much higher than mobile i dont see them doing a mobile release before consoles

and i dont see porting it as easy as it may seem on surface

youre probably right, but I do think it will be easy to port it to mobile if they do decide to do it. The technology is improving and RDR1 on mobile is basically the same engine as IV just doesnt have as much features or details but trust by time Iphone 18/19 comes out smartphones could handle it

s*** look at Death Stranding for Mobile. Quite impressive

the fact that we don’t have rdr 2 next gen and gta iv on modern consoles gives me belief they’re all hands on deck for vi

i dont see anything big happening for fans between now and gta vi release date anymore

if this is final release date then we’re talking about a few months time. if pre orders go live this summer and november is all but confirmed… i just don’t see them putting any resources into anything else

honestly even after release, it looks grim for gta iv and rdr 2 updates

gta vi will be their bread and butter for at least two decades. economically speaking, i dont see why they would waste their time on anything but gta vi

like user above you said, it’ll probabe sectioned off to Grove Street Games

i think theyre also remaking Max Payne. yiure right tho

I agree. This game will last until the late 2030’s for real. and by then who knows what technology and gaming will be like if we’ll even care about another Rockstar release
will probably be able to generate our own open world games in seconds lol

diff between death stranding + rdr 1 is that they’re much slower paced games

hypothetically i think a gta iv clone could run on my iphone 16 or easily

i think underneath the hood, its much more difficult to translate that old ass engine to apple m architecture

and rockstar wouldn’t do anything mobile unless apple devices are included

Lol yall want gta iv and red dead 2 updates this bad ? They are still fully playable

i can understand this sentiment towards rdr 2 but there’s a whole generation of adults who haven’t had easy access to gta iv

s*** i’m 25 and haven’t played gta iv in full, to put it into perspective

gta v came out when i was 13, and that was a battle but feasible to get. to be fair A LOT of people my age had 360s and ps3, im an outlier. i cant say the same for 21 year olds.

gta iv is almost completely unplayable for a generation unless they have a gaming pc. of course a s***ty pc could run it, but if you’re a casual gamer and/or only use laptops for your computer needs you basically been barred from the game, despite every hit game from that generation being re released

  • the fact that there’s been no gta iv re release gives me some hope that rockstar has something “special” in store

but there’s also a chance they dont care

yea im doing some research on it, its possible but we’ll need a few more generations of smartphones to optimize it efficiently. It can be done though but the financial incentive doesnt make sense.

again i can see Grove Street Games picking it up and/or Netflix adding it to their catalog.

im thinking years down the line by the way, like 2030+. theres no rhyme or reason for GTA4 right now

studios can’t even be bothered to do basic compression on their games, doubt studio is signing checks for translating 08 games to apple architecture.

possible but yea like u said not economically feasible

That’s a Sony issue with backwards compatibility more than a rockstar issue

This again deals with Sony being dumb about backwards compatibility

It’s playable on Xbox and pc easily

The HDR for Red Dead 2 is broken on consoles.

The game is playable lol should they fix that yes but doing entire remakes or remasters of games that hold up is a waste of time and resources right now

thatll be crazy if the most expensive piece of media of all time flops. $2billion dollars in a game should be a guaranteed hit

GTA 6 may come out looking like cyberpunk on PS4 and it's still selling enough to break even

gta 6 doesnt flop => 1 cockstar game per decade till we die

gta 6 flops => 1 cockstar game every ~2 years

Yeah, I don’t think that’s how that works.
