GTA IV is now longer ago from now, than 1986 was from Vice City coming out

Vice City came out in 2002, 16 years after 1986

GTA IV came out in 2008, 17 years ago

Culture has really stagnated because someone making a movie or game today set in 2008 would be the same as someone in 2002 making something set in the 80s. There was a world of difference from the 80s to 2002, but a 2008 set period piece made in 2025 wouldn’t feel all that special outside of some stuff.

On another note, the details im hearing about this game has me hyped. I havent felt this for something in YEARS. And im in my 30's now. So this is sorta like one of the last great game/media experiences ill have in my youthful years lol

Love the phrase exceed expectations. Rdr 2 and witcher 3 exceeded my expectations and that was priceless to me. Man I cannot wait but in the meantime its full Rockstar catalog playthrough so I'm occupied.
