SA and vc had inspiration from menace to society, boyz in the hood, and scarface but ever since the games went to the HD era they stopped using movies as inspiration and using a ton of celebs as voices to and this was the something one of the housers admitted too. Yeah it'll be an open world action game but they always innovate in SOME type of way

Niko is the guy from behind enemy lines, the plot of 5 is literally Heat, san Andreas goes without saying
And they mighta backed away from stars for a couple years, but tbh they just toned it down. GTA 4 had katt Williams and Ricky gervais, GTA v had OG aunt viv, Danny Brown, Dr. Dre and others. Just no main characters really

Beat the game/dlc when it first dropped and never looked back. Replayed all the other games multiple times, maybe I’ll try 4 again one day
