It's GTA. Do you want 50+ hours of doing crimes/missions, getting betrayed by a character and then getting revenge? Doubt the story will even be 40 hours, GTA never focused on giving the player a lengthy single player campaign
And it hasn't been in development since GTA 5 dropped
GTA online updates, the GTA 5 ports, scrapped Bully 2, RDR2 were all being worked on during that time. I guarantee that they didn't even have concept art or pictures from their location scouts yet

GTA San Andreas is GTA's longest storyline
I'm surprised GTA 5 is the second longest because that game felt really short to me but maybe it was because I didn't do the side content that much

Yeah it makes sense to me that they would have some sort of policy about employees of rockstar not being able to have relations with the mod communities or something along those lines

Its going to have a big map, a huge city full of NPCs and buildings you cant enter.
Then you are going to have a lot of side activities, you can play golf, play darts, probably eat at restaurant, swim, do hiking in the urban areas maybe, gun stores, clothing stores, car stores, and many more.
Then you are going to have markers on the map each marker is referred to with a letter, such as M, P, L, T etc etc
Now to the gameplay loop:
Go to marker on the map --> Watch a cutscene ---> Ride from A to B --> Watch cutscene --> Shoot the bad guys --> Watch cutscene --> Return side character to the mark --> hear music and mission complete.
You will have guns, shotguns, RPG, sword, knife, rifles, bombs etc. You can murder the NPCs however you like, as soon as you do crime you start collecting police stars, at 3 stars helicopter chases you, at 5 stars they bring out military.
The gunplay consists of shooting the bad guys with auto aim on their head, totally one shooting them, you take cover and you shoot enemy no.123124.
Stealth is lame, level design is lame, full focus on realism except when it comes to plot plausibility.
Now to the story:

Pretty much every video game can be broken down like this if you try

You just climb some stuff --> shoot some guys --> watch a cutscene --> shoot some more guys
Video games are inherently repetitive, especially now that most of them are these 30+ hours open world experiences. It's how the developer varies gameplay that sells the illusion. And Rockstar are pretty good at that, this post even mentions some of the different activities the games contain
Will agree tho that Rockstar main missions need some more variety and should allow you to complete them however you want instead of how Rockstar wants you to complete them

Tbh the gaming community has been pressing Rockstar about this s*** recently. That one video that said RDR2 game is outdated got hella likes and I feel like Rockstar has been responding to it by tryna give players more freedom in missions n s*** in some of the gta online content.
Vi should go deeper in that direction and make the world more interactive. From the leaks it’s looking like it’s heading that way so shi I’m excited for it.
