So y'all telling me y'alls dusty ass cowboy game caused Bully 2 to be cancelled?
no. its very misleading
the jimmy files in the source code are actually scrapped AGENT files.
bully 2 is no where in the source code
reasons it got cancelled was because of GTAV itself, NOT ONLINE pulled everyone off the project. then by the time GTA V was done rockstar changed how they do releases, and instead of each studio kinda doing their own thing, all of rockstar now works the same game, and they moved onto RDR2

Rockstar’s studios all being centralized to work on one title is a mistake
That autonomy really helped boost their portfolio among gamers because of the unique stuff that was coming out from the mid-2000s to 2013

Hopefully the SFM a community can put those models to good use 👍

Bully 2 actually existing at one point in time and later got canned has me depressed
something that was in development at work made me go on the suicide watchlist easily
If only you guys knew all the cool game ideas that never see the light of day
GTA Online is one of the most unfortunate things to happen in gaming.

That’s why it’s better just not knowing how much cool stuff we miss out on, i’d rather not know.

yeah believe me you would rather not know. Often times its thinking about what sells, marketing, higher ups in this case recent years thinking not only of what sells once but what can be sold time and time and time again. You can have the greatest idea in the world that would bring earth shattering joy to the world but if they can only sell it once and not have a million microtransactions then they think whats the point.
Its again fascinating that fortnite works. That all those people signed on to have their characters dance. I think no Games as a service or MMO can work without dance, expression and buying/ earning of so many pieces of gear so that may unfortunately be the future of most things

The industry’s so cooked, it makes me wish that stuff like GTAO had flopped at launch. I’m sure the industry still would’ve eventually shifted to micro transaction ridden, never ending live service games, but maybe we still would’ve gotten another generation or two of not every game having to make 1 billion dollars to be considered a success.

Fortnite , call of duty , destiny all boomed too it was inevitable . The cost of gaming going up of big budget games for one 70$ cost or 60 then relying on dlc for often over priced hype marketing machines that create flops by lying to sell
