Major Insiderim actually thinking about replaying GTA IV soon. as much s*** as the story for V gets, i don't recall the story for IV being that much better
IV's story is great for those who equate "wAr is BaD" dour vibes to a great narrative, like it's not cliche too
im messing around, mostly. First playthrough I was definitely invested. Love the characters. It's petty things like Niko's terrible Serbian that bring it down from the realism it's championed for imo
they could say easily PC version exclusive to rockstar launcher for first 3-6 months and many would go

I dont think its that focused on realism though . Playboi x and Dwayne isnt like some genius writing nor are any of the choices in the game. Some characters ring hollow. IV being after San Andeas though the over arching story is less silly over the top and more grounded. Is that better to me ? no personally but I respect it. I like the over the top story that is less focused on being a grounded movie or tv show.
I am not spoiler tagging a 18 year old story lol
