burnout paradise was the perfect idea of an open world racing game, especially for its time

stunt runs, takedown challenges, unlocking about 100+ different and unique cars by finding them on the map and taking them out, time trials

mini stuff like billboard smashes, gate smashes

and the online was so elite. You could do challenges together, against each other, private parties or free mode

really ahead of the curve imo

I mean I agree with him tho. Even as a kid I didn’t like how restrictive it was compared to gta. Good game tho

I’m ngl. I’ve always been more of a Midnight Club & Burnout Takedown/Revenge guy.

Never liked Need for Speed like that for some reason, except amazing Most Wanted.

Yeah but all at the cost of immaculate track designs

It would have paved the way for a better open world racing future had it really nailed the "tracks"

Racing games kind of got boring for me after the best of burnout

2 was so much better that it made Forza Horizon 1 look like a PS2 game in comparison

Honestly believe Forza Horizon 2/3 is perfection for an open world racing game
