We flying to New Zealand and playing early
I haven't listened to any of the companion album singles
Do any of them mention vice city or leonida or any gta universe stuff?
I always found it a funny that one continuity/canon/immersion breaking thing that we all accept and rockstar can’t ever fix is that the songs on the radio mention places that don’t exist in the game. Miami songs in this, songs mentioning LA, Compton and California in San Andreas. For as detailed and immersive as these games get, that’ll always be in them.
So I assumed this companion album would’ve partly been a cool work around to get real artists mentioning gta universe places
the travis scott song mentions the strip club b***ie owns
Once got involved with a CB Stan so this post is triggering me
Yeah lol he got a lot of those still regardless of his past and what people be thinking I suppose.

Crazy that they aren't making this a global launch at the very same time

Some random songs I wish were gonna be in the game soundtrack from different eras. Idk if some of these may have appeared in other Gta's I don't remember
I Wanna Be Your Man - Roger
Computer Love - Zapp and Roger
I Call Your Name - Switch
A Lovely Day - Curtis Mayfield
Remember The Time - MJ
Return of The Mack - Mark Morrison
Juicy - Notorious B.I.G
In The Air Tonight - Phil Collins
Walk on By - Isaac Hayes
God Bless the USA - Lee Greenwood
Tear Da Club Up - Three 6 Mafia
Oye Como Va - Santana
I mean we've been had artists shouting out places in Los Santos and Liberty City already. As for the real locations nonexistent in the GTA universe, I never actually thought about it or considered it immersion breaking because it's like with kayfabe in wrestling. We know what the worlds are based on so that rule remains unspoken and we're all in on the dissonance.
Once they started saying "america"/"canada"/"mexico" I stopped caring tbh. Just kinda think of it as an eerily similar city
That last drive in LS is going to feel like an emotional punch, but that first drive in Vice City is going to be monumental.
The songs made just for this game will be so jarring in quality compared to some of these phoned in songs

GTA v original song in comparison

I think moreso than phoned in, they're just loosies that didn't have somewhere else to exist imo
