Yeah, illusion of size matters too. Like San Andreas feels larger than GTA V
San Andreas map was just better and that game is 22 years old

San Andreas legit felt like I was visiting completely different places. Going through the story felt like a long traveled journey despite it really not being that big in hindsight.
pretty much rdr2 but modern, exactly what i expected.

Yeah, felt like a lot more heart went into making it. I hope VI has that heart too

It's possible they do this with VI, I can imagine they've learned their lesson since V's map, It's its biggest critique

It’s cause there was a lot more heart in the making of San Andreas but a lot of their target market didn’t play that at launch or at all let alone beat it or explore the world

V is a lot of critiques . Mission design one of them too . Doing 3 characters while cool tech did a disservice to storytelling

Is this true? I have no idea. SA was gospel is my household

I think the reason it hit harder is cause those areas unlocked through story progression. I doubt that's something they'll bring back. Even with as small as IV's map was, it was an awesome feeling finally unlocking access to the next island.

It was. Also an awesome vibe coming across a blocked bridge knowing that there's unknown stuff on the other side and trying to find a way to get past it

Cause otherwise hour one someone going to explore whole map but only going to be able to do missions and activities in a small portion of it

They did an amazing job of this in RDR2
Let’s hope it translates

Its hard to say how large a map is based on a leak picture and not driving around it. Also we dont know if there are other states . So its kind of hard to say. especially with other states heavily hinted
