I think the 3 character thing held the game back in a lot of other ways, even if the game tried to innovate in other ways. San Andreas is still better than V imo in every way except graphics for obvious reasons. The epicness and variety of SA, and the grittiness and detailed world of IV along with the Weightiness and grounded feeling of RDR2 is what I hope VI turns out to be.
As a fellow Sam Andreas truther, I couldn't agree more. That whole campaign felt like a journey. And I LOVED how every region felt so distinct. By the time you circle back to Grove Street, it feels like a wild adventure
Actual worthwhile question what is some of yall favorite missions ? Outside of heist
The Area 69 mission where you escape with the jetpack from firing soldiers in GTA SA
Bomb Da Base when you have to snipe enemies on the ship that 8 Ball is gonna plant some C4 (GTA III)
The San Andreas mission where you end up running over dudes with a combine harvester
Mansion infiltration to steal the rhyme book, San Andreas
GTA III Mike Lips Last Lunch is also a favorite. Not much happens so idk why really.
Ballad of Gay Tony mission where you're shooting at Helicopters while on top on a moving train

V is completely unserious imo, and some argue to a fault

Yeah I agree, but I hate GTA 5 for this exact reason somehow. Especially when compared to 4

I mean because their humor in V genuinely often isn’t well written or that funny . Some funny memes from fail states but the actual writing and what occurs in the missions didn’t land for me . It’s not hate it just has less soul for me

In another world they let Dave Chappelle write for Grand Theft Auto or have a radio station
There are so many ways to make fun of American culture right now. Some social media jokes will land but please hit us with more of what you going to do mechanically because going on a phone in game will forever be odd to me

Cousin let’s go bowling 👉👈
was annoying but s*** after V I missed that
Fax was more lighthearted in nature
GTA 5 too nihilist for my taste
