I think if they gave a s*** about the general public consuming it as a reveal presentation they wouldn't do it like this
It is a smart marketing move tho and I agree people will subscribe to Netflix, but not just for this. Prob some other stuff they had been wanting to check out too.

Calling this a paywall is ridiculous though. Most people have access to Netflix and it does come out same day on YT
But they can't act as sacred as they do about their reveals/trailers and then also open up the door for everybody to chop it all up before its fr free and public

No its not? Game informer has game reviews, interviews, news, journalist pieces, and yes first looks/previews/deep dives on new releases. Its an all encompassing GAMING magazine. You buy those to support gaming journalism, its a natural spot to find new info on a new game, even if its exclusive.
Netflix is a streaming service, a GTA trailer has no reason to be exclusively shown there.
Its also way easier to access a magazine's exclusive content by just reading it without buying it like i would do when i was a kid lol

I'm conflicted about the Netflix thing
Put it like this, do you want to see isolated minute long clips of everything on X/Facebook/IG/Reddit before you get a chance to watch it properly because you don't subscribe to streaming services?
On the other hand they been getting hit with leaks left and right. Firestick Project Americas gameplay leak, the trailer, everything.
On the other other hand, Netflix is almost as bad with leaked content.
So is it about presenting it properly where people can watch it in full as intended, which won't happen for a lot of people with this move, or is it about leaks, which can still happen with Netflix, or is it about the money?
My biggest issue is Kevin spacey technically introducing gta gameplay because he has committed more crimes than everyone on screen
