4. Mt. Marci
5. Behold a Dark Horse
6. KAOS
7. RR2: The Bitter Dose
8. The Pimpire Strikes Back
9. Marci Beaucoup
10. Marcberg
This is probably my ranking after re-listening his whole discography in the last day. While I like all of his albums Marci beaucoup has too many features I don’t care for and Marcberg (which I’m sure I’ll get stick for putting it last) just doesn’t hit me like his other stuff, just feels like he didn’t really have much of an identity on that one and it was a little generic
even though it showed flashes of what was to come, thugs prayer is a great track
Yikes @ marcberg being last

Already explained why it’s last for me
not even saying it’s a bad album

It’s because I don’t really feel he has his identity on it, it’s more of a generic underground album and his style we know him for now isn’t really fleshed out. Last is probably harsh, but it’s defiantly bottom 2 for me. Just my personal opinion after all
Same with iron works by KA, just doesn’t click with me, they’re both kinda generic and don’t really show their personalities. Especially iron works, can you imagine KA releasing that s*** now?
As stand-alone albums, I don’t see they sound generic at all
ok the contrary, they’re both
And it’s kinda unfair to judge Iron Works against Ka’s other albums (Grief-present) because it’s a.) his most dated and b.) was meant to just be given as a gift to the people closest to him
Also, how do you think those two albums don’t show off their personalities??
That being said Marcberg is still my “least favorite” Roc joint because of how dated it sounds versus his later projects, which sound virtually nothing like that album. Still, it can’t be denied that it’s an underground classic and birthed an underground rap sound for the following decade.

That’s what I’m saying though it’s about their sounds. I love both artists current sounds and both of these albums sound completely different and really dated. By generic and not showing their personalities I’d apply that more to ironworks, he’s talking far more “street” than any other album he’s done

Planning on going through the KA discography the next day or so like I did with Roc so I’m gonna revisit it, maybe I’m tripping but I remember a lot more street talk, clips, cop dissing etc.

I’m gonna have to sit with Mt. Marci again, give it another listen. His albums usually take a bit to set in fully.

Yeah I see what you mean. Definitely more traditional angle he comes with on that album compared to vie later (more mature) work.
One of the reasons I like that album is because it offers a view of his music pre-Grief, very early in his solo career.

It’s not a bad album, but like you said it wasn’t intended for general release, and I can’t imagine him actually releasing an album like that now. From a content standpoint I’d say the KA album is different than his following releases and as far as Roc goes stylistically he’s much different, even his vocal tone, but again neither album are bad, just outliers to me

Yeah, well put—that seems like the long and short of it
Hood, Sunday to Sunday, Children, Mr. Officer, and Stay Gutter are my favorites on Iron. Cool to see he was making special music even back then (around 2007/8 I think)
i'm tuning in but so far i'm not a fan of cook$
there's some disconnect between his rapping and the production, didn't enjoy Reasonable Drought at all

Oh word? I really fw him. He’s kinda weirdly nontraditional so that makes sense
