Is he doing vinyls for 656? I wanna buy the s***, his website lists vinyls for all his other projects so I’m assuming he doing one for this too

There will be a vinyl release. Always is. He has a distribution deal with Roc Nation now, so I'm not sure if records will be sold through them or straight from Marci's site. Every other vinyl drop has rolled out on rocmarci.com, so I assume that's where they will be available when they first drop. Roc Nation currently is selling the CD though, so I'm not certain how the vinyl drop will go down. I'd suggest signing up for emails from both websites and following on social media platforms to stay updated. Vinyl releases are always delayed like crazy.

  • anyone heard the august fanon remixes?

Gotta download everything. I wonder if the sample will be removed from the CD and LP versions. I assume it will be.

A Tiny Desk performance is long overdue. I think Marci is built to play with a full live band, and I'm not even someone who usually prefers MC's over live musicians. It takes a certain performer, and Marci has what it takes to lock in with a tight band. I want to hear this man with a dope live drummer playing behind him.

Would be the most fly tiny desk performance ever

Eh, that sounds like a bit of a stretch, but I guess maybe a little. I'd say Roc's style has more in common with No Limit era Snoop than Doggystyle. I can hear little similarities in something like Snoop's verse on B**** Please. I'm sure Roc is a fan of Snoop's 90's output and probably picked up a little bit of it on his way to where he is now, but obviously Marci has his own very distinct style, and I never even thought about this connection before. Snoop was the biggest name in Hip Hop around the Chronic/Doggystyle era and was influential to a ton of artists. I'm not a fan of modern day MAGA Snoop at all, but his short lived time at Death Row produced some undeniable classics that were game changers.

Reloaded is generally considered his most essential release. Marcielago is in my opinion his most accessible to those unfamiliar with his sound. RR2 shows a bit more of his quirky and experimental side production wise. I don't know. They all have different feels to them. It just depends on your taste. There isn't any album from Marci I wouldn't recommend really. I think the EP he did that was produced by Premier is his weakest, but I still think it's very good. 656 is his latest and is really a great raw display of his rhyming and production. Check out the track Sins Of The Father by Ka too. Marci produced that and drops one of his deepest verses ever on it. That's a real masterpiece.

Start with Marcberg and work your way up.

Enjoy one of the greatest MCs and catalogs in hip hop history.
