After initial watch i gave it a 4/5 but the more i let it sink I'm leaning towards a 5. The world building and overall vibe is so well realized.
I would’ve given this a 5 if he leaves and raises his family, and the army ends up conquering his land and spots him
Is this doin for scandanavia what apocalypto did for central america
Imagine Apocalypto if Mel went full artsy

my ass was shocked how brutal this movie was
in a good way
Me too. A $100 million r-rated epic like this hasn’t been made in so long
Skarsgard went full deadbeat mode when he found out he had two babies incoming, bro said f\*\*\* it and swam for miles like he was a GTA character
Nah it was part of the prophecy lowkey.
His daughter is gonna grow up to be St Olga of Kiev

I think he’s gonna try and do Nosferatu next
Movie was good, I do feel like this story could have been told better in a TV mini-series format tho. Film could have used at least an extra hour of character development and more dialogue, it kinda lacked in that aspect.
Eggers need to link up with HBO expeditiously, would love to see him tackle the TV format.
What’s some films you like that has great character development?

Yeah. the movie shows everything about him perfectly. You seen Peeping Tom? I would’ve added that to the list as well as your fav with Mitchum

Yeah Powell is one of my goats but I haven't seen PT in ages. I think I was waiting for a restoration before I revisit.
My crowd walked out audibly talking s*** at the end, made sense though the whole film I was thinking how even attempting a semi “mainstream” style Eggers would never make a film that normies would eat up and I love him all the more for it
like a decent majority of the people i was walking out with were audibly s***ting on this movie.
I f***ing loved it though.
