TLJ is still the worst Star Wars movie in the series.

Rian Johnson took a few things from Empire, a few things from Return of the Jedi and just shifted the blame over from the apprentice to the master but TLJ fans think it's some masterpiece that told a different story than any other Star Wars movie because he shifted around a few details instead of just copying everything like JJ has.

They tell you that you just don't understand it when you call them out on liking a movie that's a ripoff of 5&6. "No, you just don't get the themes of the Jedi and of their failure, that everyone can be a jedi etc, it takes a large brain to take in such high-level ideas"

Don't get me wrong some things like Luke talking about the Jedi's failure is good and it helps put the Prequels in context which is great but it isn't a next level new story for Star Wars generally besides some of the good bits of dialogue between Luke and Rey. I like the TLJ but it has some terrible execution in some places and it isn't a next level new direction that the TLJ stans think.

The trio actors had a lot of chemistry but I couldn’t buy Poe and Reys friendship at all. Like they literally met at the end of TLJ and in the beginning of this movie they’re arguing like they’re best friends. S*** is jarring AF

It’s all so disconnected whether you like this or that movie it just feels like weird expanded universe pieces

yeah definitely none of the pieces of this trilogy fit together like how the eu was

it's like a puzzle with mixed up pieces that don't work together and jj was just trying to slam it all together

They legit were okay and ENCOURAGED to let directors and writers have an internal battle with each other while continuing one of the most polarizing stories in all of entertainment
