Some things are just accepted because they've just been there for so long. imagine telling someone who was watching ESB in the 80's that in the future obi wan will have a master named qui gon jinn, leia is luke's sisters, and in the final movie of the trilogy Han solo's son kisses palpatine granddaughter.
