this plot is basically what he thought would be a good sequel to 7, there might be some wafty references to 8 but this is basically 2 movies smushed together into 1. like the pacing doesnt lend itself into one film

This movie starts off by trying to retcon tlj with palpatine building snoke clones and being all the voices bens heard in his head. Then later uses the force connection between rey and ben which was a main plot element in the TLJ and tries to further build on it. This movie is a f***ing mess

Avengers got way better directors who could make two 2 hr+ films feel good but thats not my point

I mean you can fix some easy problems with two films. Give Palp a real intro, give some reasons why many side chars from TLJ couldnt make it in, just stringing out all the planetary travel would do wonders. Being able to show why Kylo could pop in out of nowhere like it was one of his force connections would kill alot of complaining
