I don’t think it’s crazy. I still think Dan Harmon has genius within him. Although I don’t know how involved he is with the writing now.
Do you go in to every R&M episode expecting a classic ?

No, but I do hope that maybe we’ll get like two in a season.
The more you get into lore, the more my expectations for the episode go up, because there’s an idea that these episodes are more important, and have higher stakes.
For an episode that takes us back to the OG universes, this was enjoyable, but a lil ho-hum.
So the ratio of perceived importance to proximity to classic was a lil wonky for me here.

That's been the case in the last few seasons cause their normal episodes where they just do some crazy adventures weren't nearly as good and creative as in the first seasons. So these deep lore main story focused episodes were the only things worth to watch imo

Damn u might be right
Just started binging from 1st season having never watched it before. Just finished Pickle Rick episode.
That was a good ass episode again. This season is 2/2. I like how they're revisiting plot points from the past seasons. Restoring the feeling fr

Tbh I don't think this site even likes the show anymore.
The majority of the posts I see itt are just people complaining about how much they don't f*** with the show now smh
I still love it though, need to check out the new episode tonight

They act like it s*** the bed on some Game of Thrones s*** when it’s just having the normal growing pains that a lot of shows go through.
Basically tho, R&M is seen as uncool and cringe now, and appearances carry weight for people.

Yupp. The show has had a few rough patches, but there has still been high quality episodes in the last few seasons that people seem to completely ignore.
And yea unfortunately the show's image has been tainted because of the fanbase and memes.
The show has become a punching bag
I started watching season 5 and the first three episodes were pretty good and enjoyable, but after that there’s just a completely noticeable drop off.
the fanbase unironically is ruining the show and the super STUPID rando expectations that they are putting on the show.
hell even the show has come out and said f***ing stop.

It's just ran its course as a show to discuss. It's 6 seasons in and it's good for a casual watch. It's not even plot heavy in the grand scheme of things
The overt pop culture references kinda wore thin but this was a solid episode and concept, except the Morty voice being used this much was super grating lol
I liked the first episode was able to catch it on YouTube. I don’t have cable cause f*** that.
So far show is 2/2 and has returned to s3 quality hopefully and I think the first two seasons will stay untouchable

The seasons ends strong though
