    Just got knives out

S*** was surprisingly fun, but damn it took a while to knife some of the final bosses, especially knifing the mutated guy during the chris redfield section

cleared the game in 2hr 30min so it ended up being dashing dad run too lmao

nah you can’t use the laser, knife only and it takes like 8 minutes lol you can only stab his right leg. Yes I recommend casual for knives out

With 7, the remake of 2, and the remake of 3 (to an extent), Capcom has been doing really good with modern RE. I was a bit skeptical when the leaks for RE8 were talking about werewolves, and vampires and all, but the end product worked out extremely well. The setting is very well done, capturing the mystery and haunting aura that RE4’s village had. And just like RE4, this game is zany as s*** lol.

The game’s overall structure felt like a revised and more straightforward version of 7’s. Going through the 4 lords feels somewhat similar to going through each member of the Baker family. I will say though, the Bakers were just better man. They have much more depth and character then any of the lords.

Lady D has the most going for her, but all of her stuff was in the trailers, so if you been following the game, you really didn’t see anything new with her unfortunately. Which also sucks even more because the Castle is the best area in the game and the first area. That is less of an RE8 problem though, as that’s more of a RE problem in general.

Beneviento gets a lot of praise for how terrifying that section is (which it is pretty spooky), but I have one major gripe with it. Once you go through it the first time, the charm and the magic is gone, so on replay, playing through that section is more so a chore. I’m not dissing the presentation of the section at all, just from a gameplay perspective, there isn’t much. It’s like the video tapes in RE7.
Moreau’s section is also kind of a gimmick area, but even worse because he doesn’t really add anything to the plot unlike the other 3 lords. Heisenberg is so interesting, but you don’t get enough of him. It felt like there was much more planned for him, but it got cut or something. His area was good though and his boss fight was FIRE. Need to have a DLC with Heisenberg forreal.

Not gonna get into spoilers but all imma say is, yeah the plot is kind of nonsense. But it’s Resident Evil. The plot has always been kinda nonsense lol. Ethan is fine, don’t see where the hate really comes from at all. Chris? Kind of an a****** tbh

I had a great time with this game, and it was worth the wait. Very interested on how Capcom is going to approach the RE4 remake now, considering they just put this out.

    If I had to rank:

    REmake 2
    RE4
    REmake
    RE8
    RE5
    RE7
    REmake 3

Lmao that’s hilarious it’s so interesting how Japanese and American audiences react differently to Resident Evil. Like the demons and zombies are probably really scary to Japanese players because of their culture but to us it’s not because it has no cultural significance to us.
