Dusk said there’s talks within Capcom of possibly doing a Revelations 1 remake.
I’m sorry, but that’s a little too far.

At least Jill is in that one
So I just beat RE2, RE3 and RE4 (the remakes) as somebody who’s never played RE before.
I did not enjoy RE2. It was too slow, boring, tedious and lacked action.
RE4 was the complete opposite. Fast paced and lots of action (almost too much) but it felt a bit drawn out and it wasn’t that scary.
RE3 with Jill Valentine and that other guy hit a good balance for me. I dunno what the status quo is but I think I liked RE3 the most actually.
Requiem looks the most interesting to me if I decide to play another RE game.
Got RE Requiem yesterday and played all day. This game has been nearly perfect so far and it hooked me from the start.
I love how they intertwine Grace and Leon’s perspectives, switching between them for a good balance of stealthy horror and action. Without a doubt the best RE game out of the ones I’ve played.
I’ve also noticed that I’ve become quickly desensitized in terms of horror in games the more games I play. I haven’t really been scared playing this. I just found it fun and somehow beautiful.

Come back here after you finish it I wanna hear your thoughts

I finished it earlier today and I enjoyed it all the way from the beginning until the end. Like I said in my earlier post, it's a nearly perfect game and it drew me in from the start. It has a perfect mix of stealth, horror and action. I love that they switch between Grace's perspective and Leon's perspective to give you the best of both worlds.
Despite Grace being a completely new protagonist I immediately liked her cute little nervous stutters and got curious about her connection to everything, more specifically to that Gideon freak who be stalking her. As good as it felt to kick ass when you're playing as Leon, Grace's sections felt more realistic and believable because she ain't a hero, just a young, scared and anxious FBI investigator who's in over her head.
What bothers me is that the game left me wanting more (in a good way). I didn't want it to end so soon even though I've learned that RE games are pretty short and story driven. Luckily I heard that there will be DLC coming at some point so I'm looking forward to that because I really liked the protagonists and I also want to know if there's a chance that we can - SPOILER - help Emily.

They're pretty sick and show you some of their personal lives in between missions. I recommend Vendetta, Damnation and Death Island
Leon drowns in the booze when he isn't working

!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00TBw5KH-CQHe does? Lol I didn't see that coming. I noticed the clips you sent me are animated movies, but the short clips I saw online a few days ago were from the movies with real actors. Have you seen those?

The live action movies with Milla Jovovich are their own thing. Sometimes the game characters will appear but it's its own separate canon. They're cheesy af but they're fun.

Halfway through village in vr

Ah, I see. Thanks for the tip.
What are your favourite RE games? Now that I've played four of them in less than two weeks, I'd say for me it's:
1. Resident Evil Requiem
2. Resident Evil 3 (Remake)
3. Resident Evil 4 (Remake)
4. Resident Evil 2 (Remake)
Requiem outshined all of them by far imo. It may even end up in my personal list of top 10 games I've played.

I could go on but I'm not sure cus I know 7 and 8 are played in first person POV (which I've never liked in video games) and lean much more towards pure horror, but we'll see. I might bend eventually and give them a go.

7 is definitely more horror, leans towards the Rhodes hill grace section. 8 is more action-heavy though and you can play it in TPS so might be worth a go
either way glad you were able to play and enjoy these games brother, truly one of the best franchises ever
Dude speedran the whole series
he only played the remakes and 9 lmao

3 over 2&4 is controversial
I heard it was not on the same level

RE3R was the shortest one but in my opinion much more enjoyable than RE2R. It has more action, a dodge mechanic (please bring it back in future games), a better and more diverse stalker enemy (Nemesis), actual boss fights, less tedious exploration. It felt much more balanced and enjoyable to me than RE2R.
I kept getting lost in RE2R's police building looking for all the random little trinkets while overwhelmed by zombies and a lack of ammo while running in slow motion. RE3, RE4 and RE9 all felt way smoother and straight forward. I wasn't getting lost or bored in those games. In RE2R I was running in circles and it felt tedious to find my way around the building and find the correct objects. It felt like a chore in RE2R but not in the other games.
