PSN says it drops Thursday (26th), but I see some sites saying it drops the 27th.

Think this’ll end up in the 88-91 range, final prediction for me will be a solid 90 on the dot.

Story seems to get really wild in the second half, but I think it’ll all come down to how well it progresses to that point since it appears to be more grounded initially.

Gameplay wise, for all intents and purposes, this game is pretty much every aspect that the entire series has excelled at all contained within one title and done very well, and what I’ve gathered that this might have over previous titles is that I don’t get the sense that the “opening level” is the game’s peak and then it’s just diminishing returns from then on in (ie RE2 police station, RE4 village, RE7 Baker House, RE8 the castle etc.).

Shame that we don’t seem to have more access to overall impressions with these leaks as opposed to just contextless plot points and enemy/boss leaks.

Tbf if Resident Evil 4 came out today the internet would have not so great things to say. People are generally miserable and hate everything these days regardless of quality

About story or game?

A lot of the story spoilers are out of context, especially the return of a classic boss that Leon fights, it’s a completely different enemy, also if you know about the ending it’s not de-aging

Likely the story, gameplay seems best of the franchise tier, there’s just some plot points that are wild because they’re out of context or being they’re being misconstrued.

Lots of disinformation and people getting heated because they built up some dream story in their head that the game doesn’t adhere to.

There’s nothing here that’s totally out of the realm of prior Resident Evils.

And again, it’s all literally just plot points, most of which seem derived from very near the end (including the end), with very little sense of the game’s narrative overall and how it manages to actually execute.

Started another RE2 remake playthrough
Then onto replaying RE3 and RE4, just in time for this to drop

I just went in wanting to get a sense of how good the game is since the reviews don’t drop til a couple days before release.

It seems like only a few people actually have the game though, and as far as I’m aware only one has given overall impressions.

Seems like it’s the best RE since 4 at the very least though.

Don’t really know what the Grace/Leon split is though in terms of raw playtime.

One of the people who played the game said that (concerning playtime) that the 11-12 hour completion shown was because that person blitzed the game (and was apparently a hardcore RE veteran), for most people playing it normally the game will be a lot longer and there’s apparently a lot of side content as well

Seems like this will easily be one of the longest games in the series.

Also put it in their personal top 3.
