It's not a hoax but it's also not as crazy as it was made out to be. The country has largely contained it and taking some extra preventative measures have helped slow the spread pretty well. At first I knew a lot of people that worked in hospitals and it was legit terrible, they damn near had to pic and choose who got care and, in cases, who got to live.
A large portion of the young and healthy will just get it and feel s***ty for a lil but it's still dangerous for some

I don't pay it mind in terms of updates and media but I don't think it's necessary to if you are doing what you need to to stay healthy. Your statement is extremely ignorant thought, I don't know the exact death toll country wide or world wide but it does not allow one to say this is no biggie

I just don’t understand how 180,000 people dead = “not as crazy as it was made out to be” That’s an absurd amount of death.

My point before though was the death cases have been exagerated to help get hospitals funding and also most of the deaths were from the start where hospitals were overran and unequipped to deal with it. At one of the hospitals I know someone who works at, there's currently 8 cases of covid intubation. The death rate over the last month has slowed down dramatically because the disease has spread slowly due to preparations we've made in social distancing, hospitals more equipped to deal with them and less hospitals fighting for funding now.
I never said it wasn't serious or a big deal I think the initial quarantine was good and should have been sooner and stricter actually, but right now it's worth the risk for a lot of people to go out and try to make a living or contribute to society again.
I think partial quarantine and quarantine for the at risk is still the best option RN but I'm saying society needs to resume or come back to some type of normalcy before a lot of bad things happen. The government can't pay unemployment forever, businesses couldn't hold out much longer, and people need to make a living.

I live in the most Democrat area where every other IG story is the people I follow shaming others for not taking COVID seriously but then their Snapchat stories are them doing everything but socially distance.

    No one taking it seriously.

Govt. can absolutely afford to pay unemployment for the remainder of the pandemic. We have the higest gdp of any country.

Keep believing your conspiracies though fam

y’all can admit that it’s not as bad as the media portrays while also admitting it’s still very much a threat to our everyday lives you know? lots of dialogue itt is choosing one fact over the other when they’re both right

    get his ass bro

he's really out here acting like doctors who have spent YEARS on their degrees and training and are already earning a bag themselves would even RISK their license on a matter that they wouldnt even get a piece of the pie from. imagine dedicating your whole life to a profession just to ruin it because u want a small paycheck from saying your patient died from covid

for as much as we as nurses do to protect our licenses, i could only imagine the measure doctors take to protect theirs. the argument that the other poster uses just doesnt make sense from a healthcare worker stand point, as losing our licenses would pretty much mean the end of the road for many of us as theres already been so much time and money invested in this career path.

from an insurance standpoint, your friend brings up good points, as insurance companies do not play. if something like this is going on, especially at the scale that the other poster is claiming, then these mfers would let the world know. people would not only be losing their licenses left and right, but these doctors would be jailed for a very long time
