I like the content on Reddit but the comments and culture is so incredibly cringe

There were these 2 dudes having a years long feud in the comments of a p*** site I was using for awhile and it got to the point where one dude (A) made fake accounts of the other (B) which caused the other dude (B) to preemptively comment on every new upload claiming he was the real one it legit went on for years and prob still is

When you see posts about observations or actual questions and the top comments are all neckbeard sarcasm and in jokes instead of just answering the questions normally

it's a great place to learn and the niche subreddits have some really cool users. the uber popular ones then to attract the lowest common denominator

It was fun for certain tv/film topics & basketball stuff but then....

I clicked on one pro palestine question thread a while back & since then it kept sending me loads of psycho pro israel question threads every day
It did the same with questions related to race & immigrants

Reddit has been bad but once they began pushing to be public and as profitable as possible it's become either a cesspool of bots or users that have their head shoved up their own ass so far they will do anything to not be wrong/corrected/allow other opinions

It's been falling down this path since Covid but it's completely f***ing unbearable now

Nothing I used to use reddit for is good anymore. Music discussion anywhere is trash, I can't name a single regularly funny page, and deals/clothes selling is dead. I don't have interest in it anymore but they've squashed like 99% of d*** pages and it used to be the most active place for that

Reddit comments really aren’t that much worse than any other site

r/ToddInTheShadows is great for shooting the s*** about pop music and the userbase doesn't take their love of music super seriously, so there are no stans getting butthurt.
