If the mainstream still f***ed with R&B this song would've been huge
Mainstream loves R&B bro, Jhene just did 150 with barely any promo and a few self released singles.
She made her self easy to talk about, y'all gotta understand its more to this industry than the quality of the music alone, Miguels music is amazing btw.
Fr lol most Frank and Weeknd stans literally don’t listen to any other RNB lmao it’s weird
because frank and the weeknd don't even rlly make r&b anymore lol they're always making different s***
Lenny’s image > his music. I really tried to get into his music and it never clicked.
Love a few songs by Lenny but I never heard an album.
Miguel definitely looks up to him though.
Both look up to Prince, lol.
You expect to have a real conversation about r&b in a Frank vs Weeknd thread

You gotta listen to mama said

This s*** is goat

That’s fine but that’s exactly why their stans need to stop acting like they’re the kings of RnB or some s*** lol.

His "sound" is impeccable. He made R&B for a very specific and troubled era.

Jhene is really connected with the hip hop world tho
She had feats like Big Sean and Future on her album
And she makes the whispery type of alt R&B that's currently popular

ya this kinda fax
I got hella pushback for mentioning Miguel in that "Frank vs Weeknd" thread and mentioning he outperformed them as an R&B artist during when all 3 and Alt-R&B/Neo-Soul were all huge.
Miguel is an infinitely better and more talented artist/vocalist. Not even close. KTT doesn't like actual music
Breezy/Miguel/Usher/Kells
Real R&B

Btw Sky Walker by Miguel was leaning towards the mainstream and ofc it was a smash

And Miguel isnt? He was on one of the biggest songs on the Rhythmic charts this year.
He has some of the most consistenyl charting collabs as a feature artists, thats not the reason why he's not being talked about with the others.
I remember this and I believe it was something off Young & Free which was shelved by Black Ice. The timing is a lot off but I think he was just showcasing old material that had nothing to do with All I Want Is You.
I think it's crazy he could release this now and it would still sound fresh lol
Thanks that's such a shame I don't get why it never released

R&b doesn’t get as much love as it used to.
R&b was the dominant sound along with rock in the late 80s and 90s. You had Janet, Bobby, r Kelly, jodeci, Boyz II Men, ginuwine, etc all doing crazy numbers in r&b. Now rap is the only thing that is really dominant

She's a woman.
Do we have many popular men in R&B?

Real R&B
i mean frank is more of a singer-songwriter with a lot of focus on songwriting but ktt is dumb and likes to act like he's some mindblowing vocalist
She's a woman.

Brent, not a lot of numbers, but thats bcause he's still growing.
But check on any social media and everyon will say his last project was amazing, and its still in rotation.

His sound and image are deeply rooted in the 80's/90's/00's. Even Usher and Maxwell ain't as popular as they used to be, fam
Plus he hasn't been doing features for rappers like he used to
Someone like Miguel would've been wayyy bigger in any other decade
Fr lol most Frank and Weeknd stans literally don’t listen to any other RNB lmao it’s weird
That’s why I don’t take any of their opinions seriously
She's a woman.

Chris Brown had one of the most popular albums and songs of 2019. But he also crosses over to Pop and Rap a lot so I can see why people may not see him as such

When TGT were not popular in 2013, I knew R&B had changed into something else. There was no chance for Miguel being popular.
