Ray Vaughn isn’t the best rapper but he’s shown me that he’s got potential with this beef. Some of his lines are really good.

Reason is just…such a bland character. Zero charisma. Feels like an NPC rapper in a video game. TDEs biggest mistake was signing him and trying push him like Doechiii and completely failing.

Facts I really do t see what they saw in him, every artist signed to TDE atleast thought something different to the label imo. This nigga was always like “just the homie” on the label lol

As far as I know, Kendrick and Dave Free were both vocal that Reason being signed was a mistake.

It was Tops son who signed him I believe. And I don’t know what he saw in him either, but TDE really did try their damndest to push him. Great production, Getting Kendrick to do adlibs, features from Q, Soulo and Zay etc.

At the end of the day though, they realized he wasn’t going to catch on no matter what they did to push him.

From interviews I feel like Reason tried to drop a lot of music and most of it didn't live up to TDE's quality control so he felt trapped and that's where the tension started

Ray Vaughn had something similar to him but he didn't take it personal and kept working and now his mixtape this year getting love and he getting attention from this beef

Nah moosa is a d***head and started problems with reason, he got shelved. Guy was mad because he couldn’t drop and because he got shelved, got 0 promo nada. Makes sense. They made a bad signing and instead of treating that signing with dignity they just acted like it wasn’t their choice to sign him

I mean was he shelved? Cause TDE signed Doechii and Ray Vaughn in like 2020 and just started rolling them out. I'm guessing they wanted a similar slow development process for Reason and Reason didn't want that

Not saying Moosa wasn't a d***head for how he handled that phone call on that podcast but I do think part of it was impatience on Reason's part

what I’m saying is just behind the scenes s*** not even the phone call, yea doechii and ray Vaughn they took their time with but they signed reason way before then. Guy had a momentum that got f***ed up and the label was practically useless to guy.
His first project they had him re release a old mixtape, then made him wait 2 years to drop in pandemic with 0 promo then he was having issues with moosa and by the time porches dropped there was 0 backing anywhere s*** didn’t even get tweet by the account. He got done dirty by his label. By the time porches even dropped the momentum he could’ve built on was gone

They learned from reason what to do with ray and doechii, but the time ray came around and doechii reason was alr past his time
If they had him drop a song or two or ep, rolled him out starting like 2020/2021 it would be a dif story. But they mishandled the guy very badly. He also didn’t get developed much at all and it was a bit unlucky cuz covid f***ed with his s***. REASON’s time he could’ve shined at all was prolly the worst period of tde ever and just a sloppy transition period for moosa taking over due to nepotism

He could’ve developed a fanbase or something if he could’ve capitalized on his momentum b it instead they gave him a momentum and stepped all over it without even giving him any push
