i mean, personally im not religious so that aspect of marriage is out the window, so aside from that theres really only the legal/tax aspect which comes into play regardless as "common law" (at least in Canada)

Really for me marriage is only about some artificial "next step" in a relationship that costs you thousands in rings, ceremonies etc.

I'd rather just have my close friends and family come together with my partner's to celebrate our love at some anniversary than go through all the stress of marriage.
