i wanted to see kendrick and drake rap not sling accusations at eachother over catchy beats
Somebody should’ve kept it rap from the jump instead of escalating it

EverestJoey’s on the back foot, obviously for having to follow this and also just Ray not having as much useable material to use that’ll connect with people. Joey’s been in the game longer and those bars about not being the king of NY or saying ‘I’m back’ on every verse are so potent because we all kinda know it’s true. Ray doesn’t really have those lines of attack that people will connect with seeing highlighted in a diss
All I can think of is Ray doing hey now/tv off flows on this and Joey saying he’s trying to ride Kendrick coat tails and Kendrick hasn’t given him a verse and isn’t even on tde anymore, and Joey talking about where he was at in his career at the point Ray is.
Its almost too cerebral. Its like when I am arguing with a right winger and bring up empirical evidence and get shut down with "shut up you gay nerd"
The simplest s*** can be more effective

100%. I do agree Drake went more in the "tea" direction in the kenny beef more than Kendrick did, but its not like Kendrick said nothing "tea" related until Drake did. They both played a role.
I think Drake took what he saw as the reason he lost in SoA and thought that strategy could make him win. But Drake was already on the back foot because hes incredibly public and had some rough moments in the public eye. Would've been better to keep it about rap in hindsight. With that said who knows if Kendrick truly would've also kept it rap.
