My Dad literally had a heart attack in 2005 and his heart is essentially at 20% because a lot of the heart tissue suffocated and died from no oxygen along with AFIB (out of sync heart) and he's still alive and well

I think if its just chf he will be ok it is treatable. Dude has alcohol induced cardiomyopathy possibly just reading the tmz s*** idk if thats the diagnosis but the literature says the reduced EF is actually reversible by just cutting back on alcohol

Now if its something way worse like cancer or another type of cardiac etiology thats a different story but a reduced ejection fraction of 20 isnt a death sentence…per se
