But the fact J Cole rapping on a beat with trap drums that sound similar to what was created 10 years ago says a lot about his sound

Isn’t the entire concept of disc 29 that it’s stuff he made years ago at 29

We're losing recipes if everyone didn't recognize this immediately

Cole's a student of the game. He covers just about every decade on that album. The song transitions into Miami bass lol

I was gonna call him schizophrenic

But if he made that melody and that isn’t a sample or loop then he has a case

He’s gonna have to share what the DAW project looks like to cement it

If it’s a sample then that would explain the tempo being the same

as for ur last point changing speed and pitch of samples is essential to sampling. rare asf to see some s*** get sampled and it’s exactly the same pitch and tempo still.

btw both beats have the sample pitched down the same amt, the original audio is like one semitone up

u saying they use the same sample so thats why they’re the same bpm just makes zero sense to me man its crazy ur brain thinks that way

  • same general idea, he’s got a case
