almost every place is hiring for the holidays rn
just check fedex or ups, or whatever canada post duplicate you got in the states
I checked Fedex and they only offer part time. UPS only has seasonal driver helper roles rn.
I thought it was secure. You ever been told you are starting a job on such and such date and then without even being contacted all of a sudden you aren't.
Why don't you try Amazon delivery? Seems better than warehouse and you get to move around
I was hoping to grind for a few years while they paid for a bachelors degree so I could get something better while losing weight and being healthier at the same time.
Idk how the pay for college thing goes, you may have to be there for a certain period.
Not a bad plan on paper bro, but a lot of factories over advertise their benefits tbh.
Lot of factories work like:
The sign on bonus is after like 3-6 months
Mandated overtime and weekends
Breaks and lunches are on the dot, like if ur 10 seconds late, they get pissed
No chill days at work, you always gotta be moving
A break every 2 hours can be really daunting at times
Work culture is horrible, everyone who is above the warehouse workers and assemblers acts like you're a dumb peasant. Ass kissers who have your exact job title and pay rate might be on your ass if you're not working up to "standard" and try and snitch all the time
Like I'd have no issue going into it if I couldn't find a salaried job, but I could never go back if I already had a salary.
My cousin did it after being an elementary school teacher and she liked it (Amazon), but ultimately got sick of it

Good idea, I will apply to one of their delivery partners. They have a few in my area I believe.

i'd just take the part time till you wait to heard from amazon
free Prime™
You don't even get that. My sister works for Amazon and she uses our brother's prime.

yeah they told me when I signed my i-9 and w4 it's a 10% discount code and stops once you get $100 off.

That's pretty common with those warehouses jobs tho especially round this time. Its f***dd but it is what it is

Doesn't Amazon have their own delivery service now with their own trucks?
Why do you need to apply to one of their delivery partners?

no delivery jobs showing up on the Amazon website. I think in my area it's only the DSPs. They lease the Amazon trucks from Amazon but run the delivery as their own businesses.
“ 4 ten hour work weeks” my man it’s christmas time you ain’t getting 4 ten hour days anytime soon
Fr. My sister is supposed to do 4 tens at Amazon but she's doing 6 twelves. @op , f*** Amazon. Try and find a comparable office job if you have the experience.. you may have to take a paycut for a bit. Amazon is not worth it.

Damn, they told me I would only ever have to work one extra 10 hour shift in a month.

Amazon is either misleading or lying about almost everything. Which is true for most jobs, but Amazon is especially egregious with it.
check op's old thread he damn near 330lbs
this will be big benefit to OP
I am talking about employee/workplace happiness
Amazon employees are constantly meme'd about being unhappy and worked to death
Hey @op I saw your post about leaving your office job for an Amazon warehouse job, and I just wanted to say: good luck with that! I mean, I know it's tempting to leave the comfort of your desk and go work in a loud, cramped warehouse with a bunch of strangers, but I think you might be making a mistake. After all, who needs a comfortable chair, regular breaks, and a decent salary when you can have a conveyor belt and a scanner gun? And let's not forget the joys of working for a company that treats its employees like disposable robots! I'm sure you'll be much happier spending your days scanning boxes and packing them into trucks, and I can't wait to hear all about it. Good luck, and don't forget to smile for the cameras!
