i keep coming back to this movie
so good
movie just gives off a good feeling idk what it is
This couldve been so much better. Great cast, great setting and great music. The story was just not connected. If you dont know anything about Sharon Tate then her character is a waste. Whats the point of showing Charlie Manson?
I feel the hippie storyline with Cliff led to nothing. What was the point of George? There was so much tension in that scene but led to nothing

Great movie but definitely some significant missed opportunities
I'm sure I've said something similar to this before, but I'm watching The Hateful Eight extended series again and it is so, so good. The extended serial version is the best version of this film, and the film as a whole is tremendous. I put it above Django, and pretty high up on the QT rankings. I honestly think it's sort of a perfect film, similar in its perfection to Inglourious Basterds (though I would still put IB above it).
Yea, H8 is underrated in my view. The score is one of the best scores ever, tbh. Shout out Ennio Morricone for blessing this film (RIP).
And I still hope he does the same extended serial format with Once Upon A Time because I feel that would similarly benefit from the re-formatting.

@Lawdie and I had a conversation about this same thing a while back and I completely agree with you. The extended version really enhanced the film and i enjoyed it much more than I’d previously had. It’s easily in his top 3 for me, and I’m with you on OUATIH getting the same treatment, that would be fantastic.

The sound design is incredible in that movie.
Highly underrated in the QT catalogue.

Rewatched yesterday, still Tarantino worst movie imo. Had much more fun with H8 but I’m a big fan of westerns. Django my favorite Tarantino movie

Lol this reads like Going on YouTube to play a song you like and then playing the whole album
People who call this movie sexist are literally missing the entire point of this movie and it never ceases to be aggravating.

it's sexist, racist and has serious pedo undertones according to weirdos online.

I feel the hippie storyline with Cliff led to nothing. What was the point of George? There was so much tension in that scene but led to nothing
The purpose of Charles Manson and the hippies in the ranch is to set up this looming danger that threatens to end the fairy tale that is Hollywood but that Manson happens to be walking right around Sharon Tates house and that the hippies literally are living at a shut down movie ranch is used to show just how closely connected Hollywood and the Manson murderers really are
It’s also a pretty self aware parallel to the criticisms Tarantino has gotten about his violence contributing towards influencing real violence
But most importantly of all, the ranch scene allows Tarantino to do what he is most well known for and that is riffing off older movies. It makes perfect sense considering it is an old movie set housing real life murderers. It’s a very creepy abandoned location with a real fear in it and Tarantino channels classic horror framing and sound design to sell the tension.
Ok brad Pitt literally carries once upon a time in Hollywood
He takes the movie from like 5 to 8
