im not confusing s*** lmao i know and acknowledge this. It changes nothing as my dollars aren’t supporting developers, they’re just supporting those s***ty corporate suits whether you know it or not as developers are paid a salary and generally do not make residuals/royalties. i pretty much exclusively buy indie titles or games that have tried and loved, like armored core 6 or sekiro back in the day. if you disagree with my philosophy that’s fine, but no one is gonna convince me out of it lol

ehhhh it’s definitely hard to say for sure, I’ll give you that, but I think a good rule of thumb is that if a game doesn’t sell well that team is disbanded and some let go and others put on other projects instead of making a sequel if it had sold well. So sales may not directly impact salary but sometimes it effects if you’ll get that salary again lol

its funny that you brought up fromsoft “back in the day” because actually the devs got bonuses becuase elden ring sold so well
