Dynamic digital pricing a very valid concern . Xbox , switch 2 and ps5 prices being beholden to tariffs and ai is something many of us told you was coming when Xbox raised prices m, even before that . When Xbox raised prices people said “ Microsoft so greedy and their console s*** “ now when Sony raises prices it’s “ you should have bought one “ when the truth is in between. There is only so much loss they can take per console to build an install base . Ps plus will raise next when playing online should be free . If Xbox doesn’t make playing online free with helix and future they fools
I think it's the combination of Sony's obvious greed oozing out of their 1st party live service push and its the buying and closing of studios with nothing to show for it plus the realities of tech manufacturing in 2026 that's putting me off of this gen (and possibly the next). Judging by the Pro, it's an easy bet to say they'll do away with the disc drive with the PS6. I say this not as a physical media guy but just noticing that remasters and remakes might completely replace back-compat (something MS did well) in the Sony ecosystem or at least an additional charge for here on out. Them pivoting to highly targeted digital sales also leads me to believe that's the direction PS is heading. As for Xbox making online free, idk. Xbox hasn't been doing as well as MS would have hoped so I think they'll keep any revenue stream open that they can
I don't think the PS6 will be $900 or more... I think it'll be somewhere between $600 - $700 MAX.
And I think the PS6 handheld will be between $500 - $600 MAX.
Now the PS6 Pro? Dunno tbh... But my current guess is somewhere between $800 - $1000.
I hope I am wrong in a good way in regards to both the PS6/PS6 handheld and the PS6 Pro though.

lol you see the specs for rumored ps6 and think they can still hold the same price range with a disc drive , good storage and whatever controller enhancements they have . I really can’t see myself buying a ps6 if it isn’t fully backwards compatible with disc drive . I don’t like idea of digital only console locked to PlayStation store . S*** I need helix to confirm it still has a disc drive but either way with access to stores where you can get games cheaper it’s a good value . A few bad decisions by Sony may shift who they trust
I know what you mean and things might have changed since the latest leak regarding what its price might be... But the latest leaks do say Sony is trying to keep the base PS6 price at something consumer friendly... Well to a degree at least.
But lol... It won't shock if Sony decides to PS3 us in 2027 and make it $1000 - $1200... And be like "It's still cheaper than Project Helix though... Go get it NOW!" smh lol.
we back
The crazy part going to be if people all get pros then are disappointed by gta
honestly a great deal, getting $400 credit for a potentially 5+ year old console that cost $500 at the time makes too much sense

The latest rumors say it'll be a PS5 Pro situation... Or best case scenario will be like what Sony did with the base PS5 and digital PS5.
But we'll see fam... Who knows what will happen during mid-late 2027 tbh

You can’t both want a major upgrade from ps5 pro ( enough to warrant a new console ) and expect it to be 600-700 when ps5 pro at launch was 750 . Yes prices of parts will go down some but if you want a genuine leap in power 800-900 range with disc drive isn’t as crazy as it used to sound . Yes ChatGPT fell but data centers , cars , ai , pc still all fighting over chips . Sony will likely still make games built for ps5 well into ps6 generation again

Launch? No lol it was $700 then got bumped to $750 last year.
But yes I guess with what the PS6 and PS6 Pro should be able to do so won't I expect it to be cheap tbh.
And yes I do most definitely see Sony still making games for the PS5/PS5 Pro during the PS6 generation for sure... But dunno if all of it though
Built a PC before the Ram caused a liver & got a pro couple of a months ago
You did the right thing tbh fam!
Built a PC before the Ram caused a liver & got a pro couple of a months ago

Ugh might have to take up that GS offer and trade-in my base disc drive PS5
Is it worth it to upgrade to the Pro if this is my TV?
75” QLED MiniLED 4K UHD
144Hz
Full Array Local Dimming

Yes as long as it's 4K, 120 Hz or above, has VRR, ALLM and two HDMI 2.1 ports or more so is it all good.
And the price changes April 2nd 2026.
I forgot to upload my save data to the cloud before trading in and I haven’t had ps plus for months
All Astro bot and DS2 progress gone
