i do enjoy my pro but idk if i wouldve bought it if my ps5 didn't get set on fire

Idk at this point I’m looking at it like an investment, I’ll want it for GTA VI and DS2, and I don’t want to pay $1000 for it.

But there’s absolutely no chance I’d buy it right now if I wasn’t scared of prices raising. I looked at the “Pro Enhanced” section of the store this morning and was so disappointed with the selection

Trading my OG digital in and copping a Pro, f*** it.

It’s the way to go, especially if you’re like me and you played your ps5 HARD for like 4 years, I didn’t clean the dust out either so I really pushed that console to the limits. Now that I have my Pro Im gonna take better care of it though.

Never got to cop the PS4 Pro so it'd be nice to get the Pro version of a console.

I was gonna get it at some stage but now with these price increases, it's time.

Neither did I... Well I never got the PS4 Pro even though I was planning on getting one but real life got in the way so I never got one. But man believe me fam I am so happy that I got a PS5 Pro almost 6 months ago!

Traded my OG digital PS5 today with the Pro coming in tomorrow. Already got the disc drive in the mail today.

You made the right choice tbh... And before the eventual change of the price to something more than $700 (Which I hope doesn't happen!).

And aight man good idea. I've basically all I need minus the Midnight Black console cover/plates. So when Sony announces it so will I get it day 1 and then so will my PS5 and PS5 Pro both look sick and have the color I do generally speaking prefer to have my console, handheld, PC, smartphone etc. in.

So yeah good choice my guy... I think you're going to like it and especially when more and more games do get PS5 Pro enhanced and it's clearly the best place to play them on a console

I did build my new gaming PC last September so I was already good there.

I did the Pro upgrade mainly because I was gonna get a Pro eventually (now is definitely the right time to buy with everything rising in price) & because lowkey buying the digital only console was a bad decision because I wanted that PS4 disc back compatibility to play my PS4 collection.

I still have my OG launch PS4 but why would I want to turn that back on again when a PS5 Pro with the disc drive has the PS4 enhancements & quieter fan.

So the purchase was a bit easier to make (even though I kind of didn't need it).

Best time to buy a Pro is definitely now since it's not hard to buy one online or in store atm.

Word? Yeah if your PC is decent at least so is that a good start... But tbh IMO a PC isn't enough though

But yeah tbh besides a PC so is a PlayStation/Nintendo console and handheld needed to enjoy the full gaming experience though... So dunno if you're getting a Nintendo Switch 2 but I plan on getting one around the time it's cheaper or the OLED version of it is out. And after that so will I build a PC too... But not to really game on it but use it for other purposes.

Anyway I think you're going to be busy with it!

Will you buy anything else for it besides new games?

I mean me... I got the stand, Blu-Ray disc drive, a 4 TB's Samsung 990 Pro NVME M.2 SSD, the Dualsense Edge and Pulse Elite headset in the Midnight Black color... So what am I missing? Well the console cover/plates in Midnight Black and then so am I good until the PS6 is out

Got the Switch 2 pre-ordered. It's my first Nintendo console since the launch DS

Wanted to get back into Nintendo and check out what I've been missing.

For the PS5, not sure what's the next game I'm getting. It'll for sure be Ghost of Yotei though.

Yeah I need to do that too... I think the last Nintendo thing I had was the Nintendo DSi. So yeah I need to get back into the Nintendo stuff at some point which so far seems like I wanna wait until the OLED version of the Nintendo Switch 2 is out and then do it as the current one doesn't feel like it's 100 % worth it and been an early adopter might not be a good idea

Yeah GOY should be a good game so that's a good idea so far. You might also wanna check out games like Death Stranding 2 and Lost Soul Aside though

If you think you play the switch 2 portable a lot then yeah maybe waiting oled worth

But me who plays docked 99%. F*** it early option best method. + for you since you haven’t played since DSI there’s a ton of games you can play backlog

I'm disappointed there wasn't an OLED option at launch but it's something that's years away and I'll upgrade to that when the time comes.

And facts, being an early adopter sucks. Especially with consoles. I've already gone through 3 PS5s (OG launch physical, revised OG digital & finally the PS5 Pro).

I'll do both tbh... But more docked yeah. But it's not only because of OLED but also the other small improvements that I hope Nintendo will do in the next 3-4 years or whenever that OLED version of the Nintendo Switch 2 is out.

And yes I've missed on a lot of games so I'll have to do some research and ask you guys which games you do recommend besides the obvious must have Nintendo games. But I'll see what I'll do once it's the right time to get one.

@GEOLINK Yeah I did expect one at launch and that might have made me get one day 1 or in like 1-2 years. But I think me waiting is a better idea tbh.

And well I waited like 2 years before getting my OG PS5 so it's still running very well and without no issues. So the PS5 Pro is my second PS5 and it's also working like it's brand new so far but I don't use it much since I am waiting for the Midnight Black console cover/plates so I can fully retire my OG PS5 and just game on the PS5 Pro which I am expecting to happen during mid-late 2025 as I don't see Sony waiting until 2026 to finally release at least some PS5 Pro console covers/plates which I hope one of them is in the Midnight Black color as I need that ASAP!

They lucked out with that Microsoft f***ed up Xbone launch so hard. Put them in a position with barely any competition for two straight gen’s at the start of the digital era
