“The culture” has no rights to that
Drake earned that off his own hard work

If that’s ya take on it keep it that way, I was speaking in regards of those pushing an opposite agenda. The convo wasn’t about what the culture has a right too but if his catalogue being worth so much is an asset to the culture at large.

All this talk about the f***ing culture and y’all can’t even define s*** fo real. Y’all picks and choose what’s the culture according to your balls not real measurement. Most overrated word of 2024 already

Considering he is my most listened to artist for the last 15 yrs by far, I'd be traumatized.

    Yep

This was a great interview and he said a lot and it’s disappointing people gonna only focus on this + intentionally misunderstand this in both directions

A related poignant thing he kept saying in the interview is “imagine if i told you in 2002 or whatever that you could have all the CD’s the entire Virgin megastore for $9.99”

People trying to make this seem like Drake is just leaps and bounds above the 60’s-80’s acts severely misunderstood lol.

I don’t think there’s any way to separately quantify how much revenue Drake’s music brings in

You can’t split up people’s $9.99 into saying they paid this to listen to Drake. Retroactively you can try to divide peoples listening patterns up like that but you can’t really quantify what people keep streaming services for before they listen to the music
