I haven’t been active in this thread like I wanted to be but…
This is the greatest game ATLUS has ever made so far
It’s almost like they tailored it exactly to my taste perfectly. It feels mature in all the right ways
I can’t believe what I’m playing this is deadass their Elden Ring. I have no clue how they got it so right the first time lmao
ok sogne the icebound + rella is the first boss to give me a headache. time to take a break lol
DAMN this dungeon long as s***
if you mean the first one then I feel like they purposefully made that s*** long to try and force you to do it in multiple days
I was not gonna be deterred tho I cheesed one of the archtypes for MP regen and kept going

I didn’t find out about that until a YouTube video half way into the cathedral dungeon. It’s the mage passive right ?

get your Maria up so you can do Speed Cooking
at first I was on board with the archetype exp qol but now I'm not really fw it
I've been on merchant literally the entire game on MC because theres no reason not to since I can level up all the other archetypes without even having to switch. same goes for the other chars, I rarely ever switch them off their "best" archetype so it's kinda just running the same class all game
tbh I would prefer it if they just forced you to play as the archetype to get the archetype exp. there are multiple classes and entire lines that I've never ever used but maxed out just to get a specific inherited skill or something
too much qol isn't always a good thing

what difficulty are you playing at? i feel hard mode does a decent job forcing you to switch up archetypes but thats how you max out More's rank so it works out. it has for me at least lol it still use that qol exp for the members out of the party + archetypal rings though. pretty handy.

yea I'm on hard. I think the main issue is that's it's a 1:1 conversion
so like if I'm maxed out on merchant every 1000 exp I gain can just be 1000 exp for another archetype. strohl been on warrior line the entire game so far and I'm in september
anything I need from another class I just get using the hero leaves from leveling maxed archetypes
I would change it up more if it was faster to level if you have that archetype equipped
For people who already beat it, is it really comparable to P5 in length?
I haven’t beaten it but I don’t think so. I’m at around 50 hours and I feel like I’m approaching the last 1/3 of the game. Maybe even last quarter
I remember base P5 held me down for a little over 100 hours. I think I’ll finish metaphor in under 80

i guess i just didn't find that way fun bc i couldnt wait to switch up my class whenever a quest, informant or new area suggested to do so. also it was easier to just embody the whole archetype rather than depend solely on inherited skills at times esp when the class rank is low (my fault) and can only hold 1 or 2 extra skills. but youve gotten by with your tactics so it really doesnt matter ig lol
