Stardom wouldn’t be s*** in the west.

Unfortunate to hear but most ain’t trying to watch an all womens wrestling promotion

    Especially a non-American one

200k to a 2 million in a year is pretty crazy, how long have they been around?

    About 10 years.

Stardom is amazing, if they made it more accessible in the west i think it'd be insanely popular. The only thing keeping it down rn is its lack of accessibility to audiences who don't want to use Stardom World. I think in part what the promotion does so well is its balance of gimmicks/storylines - way better than like most other promos right now by a longshot.

They should move their PPVs to FITE in the US,its crazy that they charge $40 bucks for their PPVs and you need a credit card to purchase them. Big handicap but,i heard they do decent numbers(based on expectations)in the US so

I think that should come in time with some Bushiroad pressure but the issue is that Rossy doesn’t seem to care too much about attracting an international audience.

TBH you can just go on r/stardomjoshi and they’re great at explaining and giving directions. NJPW fans got together and did the same up to NJPWWorld starting and even in the early days when there was no English options.

The world gonna need another Big Egg Wrestling Universe event soon tbh

Would be great but not likely, the politics in Joshi puroresu is even worse then the men’s.

People like Hikaru Shida and Kana (WWE’s Asuka) flat out refuse to work with Rossy at this point. (Plus STARDOM just brought back Nanae Takahashi who Kana hates with a passion IRL. It was because of Nanae that Kana and Io Shirai had a massive falling out and broke up Triple Tails.

in a vacuum i get it but that's no really true, they already have a big following here in the west and that's with their shows being virtually inaccessible to anyone who isn't a hardcore fan. the only reason they aren't bigger is how hard it is to watch. stardom has a bigger following already in the west than actual womens division of major promos

yeah thats kind of what im saying. even being barely accessible their numbers exceed general expectations - so I don't get anyone saying that they wouldn't be more popular here if that wasn't the case.

Yuka needs an entrance like this in AEW

  • Jul 31, 2022

there is no way MLW is still trying to put Krugger as a top card act idk what the f*** Bauer is doing with that promo. they need new bookers and writers when they come back from their current Fusion hiatus, Fusion has been declining in quality all around for awhile now.

Yeah, infighting and politics would keep it from happening, but if they can get everyone else like TJPW,AEW,IMPACT,NWA and most other Josh's in Japan,it'll still be must see

Exactly, and even though their PPVs are sorta hard to purchase, their high quality streams, above whatever NJPW is doing with World. And their production is solid too, they could feed hardcore fans the bare minimum, but they don't. Their just needs to be a platform so people can just pick up a remote and just watch it.

i'm sure a lot of it just has to do w being a japanese company tbh. japanese companies in general (no less media companies) tend to have a poor relationship with foreign audiences for nebulous reasons so they always obfuscate access to their product

the thing about TK supposedly interfering with the initial plan for Flair's last match is interesting...suppose it would have been cool to see him team up with FTR but at the same time I feel like the storyline they have going into it now is pretty good...those videos they put together for it were well done...even if Flair is a mess in the ring you've got 3 other guys who are still capable of putting in work

Yep,i think the match is mostly gonna be Lethal/Andrade with Jarret/Flair wrestling the least. The spectacle of seeing Flair actually wrestle at 73 is gonna be kept to a minimum to keep the crowd into the match to see what Flair does when actually gets in imo

Drew vs Roman at Clash is the probably the match that Roman has the highest chance of losing since maybe Edge vs Danielson vs Roman at wm37. Especially with Hunter booking and Roman’s title run passing the two year mark on 8/30
