I think Sami would probably agree that stuff wouldn't/shouldn't fly these days which is why he hasn't tried to bring it back lol which doesn't justify doing it before obviously but the world has changed and I don't think the argument should be "El Grande Americano is okay because people we like did similar gimmicks 10+ years ago"
But the point is, literally nobody looks back at el generico as offensive and look back at that gimmick very fondly when it’s essentially the same thing

I personally don't have a fondness for El Generico so I can't relate to all that but I think if Sami legit tried to bring it back in current times it'd get heat for the wrong reasons too...Chris Daniels said the same about his old Curry Man gimmick
