I remember when Punk first started in AEW he was doing guest commentary and they had him calling a match with Colt Cabana in it...he didn't directly address or mention Colt at all during that and basically acted like he didn't exist...shortly after that and Colt getting his teeth kicked out by Danielson he disappeared from AEW television...wasn't even really on Dark or Elevation...then when ROH was announced it just seemed to everyone that Punk probably told TK one of the stipulations of him signing is he wouldn't work with Colt and so TK initially was gonna release him but then decided to just move him to the ROH roster
