Just spun this groove today... I’m listening to “Acknowledge Me” with The Artist on vox at the moment, though (the shorter, released variation, I may add.)
originally from the amazon pre-order but was deleted probably because it was put up too early. heres a link to the tracklist

Actually just realized Rockhard In A Funky Place isn’t there, meaning there’ll be one track missing from the 3 LP set for ppl hoping to make a playlist on streaming services
When the f*** will the Black Album be made available
The “Electric Chair” band was the most unique from my point of view.
He tried to get Patrice in the npg during that Snl performance. 😳he even had a sign by her keyboard that lit up and said Patrice.
But Patrice was getting that la session money. She didn’t acknowledge the hint. Funny how Prince shortly after got Rosie after Patrice went back to la. He was still trying to replace Bonnie Boyer. 😎
really hope this remaster is good.
It has to be , or the vault master is fired. Well, he will fire himself as a certain someone liked to say.

Got it in WAV.
Also, it’s entitled, “In a Large Room with No Light.”

Imagine if Patrice had ever appeared on Prince’s opus; I would’ve gone genuinely INSANE.

Yes.
One thing that is absolutely crazy to me was prince’s beeper 📟 world.
Allow me to explain. Every VIP musician/ engineer/ guru tech/ manager was handed a beeper.
This beeper was a summoning signal like audio bat signal to come to the studio.
To give you an idea, his saxophonist would be pleased after recording 4 hours. He says see you tomorrow to prince, gets in his car , drives 1 hour n half or two , gets home, gets ready for sleep, turns on late night tv , eyes are about to close. Beeeeep 📟 the beeper is already paging Leeds to return. He just got into bed. 😳
Anyone who had the beeper 📟 has stories like this. This is how fast he was at completing not a track, a song.
It was 24-7. You couldn’t mail a tape in, you had to go there atthe time you were summoned.
And that’s why everyone was always on guard. Because you could be in there for 10 hours and return home, crash on your bed and as soon as your head hit the pillow.
In his mind, he thought a person recharged in that space of time
this is also why most people couldn’t be in his band.
Your only break was when he had the flu.
When you think about the majority of studio sessions, it’s a lot of mouse lap top clicking, Drinking, smoking.
With Prince it wasn’t a lounge area. You had to be ready for anything. He’s looking at you to mess up. As soon as someone glitched a tape deck, they were out. Even if it wasn’t your fault.
His turn over of engineers & tech’s were ridiculous. Day in day out......
If you lacked sleep & missed a cue, rip to you.

Damn. A PERFECTIONIST
Damn. A PERFECTIONIST
that’s why he never got another orchestral string arranger, clare was a god & a genius like him . he passed away & hired his son to keep arranging for him.
the fischer family was one of the few to stay with prince since 1985. which makes him the most unlikely longest music fam member in prn universe. 😭😭😭
if you ever get a chance, check out his solo work , you can’t go wrong. beautiful stuff, brilliant composer arranger & keyboardist. 😎he has over 50 lp’s he left us with.
pre-order is officially up
