I liked Pattinson’s acting but it was a pretty boring and unfulfilling script

What if anything could make the script or movie for fulfilling to you like what made it boring? Lack of stacks or not invested in how it approached its themes?

Little to No bite and weak center of conflict for such a heavy topic, couldve been dramatized better through plot instead of moreso sfx. too many filler scenes on top of that made for a big bag of sand that Robert and Decoy Dan were carrying. Phoebe Bridgers’ character seemed to never break character as the kid much and I found that interesting

Pattinson was the best thing about this but the more I sit with this the more I realize that this wasn’t needed it wasn’t

In a movie that says public lashings sensationalized for profit is not productive to society I am wondering why its a public lashing sensationalized for profit 20 years after the fact. With so many fictional moments sprinkled on to an investigative reporter that made jokes but never fictionalized or suggested ideas for the predators. Regardless of how anyone feels about the Conradt situation solicting s***from a minor and sending them p*** is a crime that the police can go to your home. Should he have gone to the home to get footage? That comes down to individual. On a public government figure where many government figures have had police cover up for them especially an officer in the business for 20 years who was friends with him. It is good oversight. But corporate news rarely serves that purpose. Body cams to this day get turned off. We know no matter what tv show cameras will fly. If they dont then we have an issue.

Wouldn't say half but the one he does being due to a cheating scandal that happened 5 years later in reality. When the Rabbi ask him does why does he have the right. They show Chris Hansen as mentally inept. with his former boss in the movie playing himself taunting him saying "take a seat and eat a cookie"

I was wondering how do you think it approached the legal side as a law person? I was hoping the court cases would be more of a plot point in the movie and repeat offenders kind of shocked it wasnt.

Hollyweird softened this movie up for their own sake let’s be honest

Same as most Hollywood movies tbh but I have major biased opinions

I mean but to me that is a central and good reason to critique to catch a predator the amount of cases that got thrown out so its possibly known they a pedo but they could have more victims and not be registered. Highlighting what perverted justice did wrong in those specific cases or how the legal system didnt accept evidence because of how it was produced depending on state not even being in the movie and instead more framing of decoys as entrapment was mind numbing.

I read that as shortcuts for the writers but I’m used to critiquing myself either way the movie felt a bit hollow to me regardless and I wasn’t tired but was rolling my eyes a lot
