went to play something on the music app on my macbook and just gave the spinning circle s***. now will only play a select few songs or if I go in and manually go to the file and hit open with music. then if I try to skip to the next song it will give the spinning cirlcle for a few seconds then go to the next song I opened up even if its 1000 songs later. basically its acting like it cant find any of the files anymore but without actually giving me that message or showing the "!" before the track titles

I have 33k songs in my itunes please tell me I dont have to spend the next year going through all of them.
and no im not gonna start streaming music

Go to your music folder, you should see a folder called "previous music libraries"

It has library files that basically tells Apple Music what songs are available in your library. As long as the music files themselves are still in the correct location, restoring to a previous library should fix it. You may lose some songs in your library depending on when the last backup was.

newest was in january, tried it still doing the same thing and now I guess I gotta re-add everything the last 5 months? or can I go back to that library I just had?

so all the music just randomly started working again but I already reverted to the last library that was saved which was in january. had ot go back and add everything this year (hopefully didnt miss too much) and I just synced my phone back seems ok now.

now how do I make a new music library file so If it happens again I dont have to go back to january? does it just make them when I use timemachine?

also I keep my music I just downloaded and havent orginized in a folder in the downloads tab then eventually move it to a folder under documents but I noticed now theres are duplicated of everytihng also in the folder under downloads. its not taking up anymore hdd space somehow but idk should I just leave it there? I did start making a whole new library but then tried 1 last time with januarys file so maybe it was from that?
