If Ukraine keeps up this fight, I really believe Putin's downfall will come from inside Russia. I don't think Putin expected such heavy resistance.
It's obvious he doesn't have complete approval from Russia's populace for the war & if these huge human losses for Russia continue, plus if they really get excluded from SWIFT and their economy gets f***ed further, I can see some of the oligarchs organizing a coup or the public starting a revolution that would get backed by part of the establishment.
I think Putin's closest circle that allows him be in power operates on completely different orbit. As was shown by Panama Papers those people use offshore banks, bank accounts that signed to some random people, etc. They aren't some businessman, they are literal goons. Sanctions won't affect them.
Russian people are scared s***less to protest, because of how many leaks there were about tortures during interrogations and even this week those who were caught couldn't get their lawyer because police office applied Fortress measures, where it's closed and nobody can get in. Police also can sneak some d**** into your pocket just to get a raise for catching enough d*** traffickers. So I guess those who had enough they'd rather collect their stuff and migrate.
I think the only sanctions that could've shooked the elites are maybe returning their kids from NATO countries back to Russia, but I haven't seen those sanctions yet, I guess because it's "immoral" and "inhumane".

Yeah fam maybe deporting kids in schools because their countries at war with another one for the sake of geopolitics isn’t the best move to make

Maybe bombing people are more wrong

Someone being “more wrong” than you isn’t a good enough reason to suddenly stoop to a lower level

Yeah, not allowing all Russian people to get visas to EU and America, is way better then just cancelling some citizenships.
RT experiencing mass leaves

Turning peoples children into political pawns is a really great expression of our good guy ideals
