What does a vote to condemn russia by the UN do? Is it a glorified petition?

    Scratchin Mamba

Not gonna pearlcutch abt azov nazis getting their karma

i think the way i was looking at it is like, where is the focus of these conversations like if 90% of what you’re talking about is ukraine having neonazis in their military/govt it’s like... what does that say about u

i feel like it has its place but the amount of emphasis placed on it in regard to the bigger picture aka there’s gonna be hella refugees, putin’s a f***in oligarch, etc

how essential is it to what’s most relevant

but this isn't about giving Nazis weapons man or putting one up Putin ass it's literally about the safety and well being of the Ukrainian people, don't tell me then you care about them but don't want to help them because you value your tax money more than principles and human rights

just because Russia wasn't willing to invade a country a that time doesn't mean they wouldn't to do later, like right now, or like the many times they did thru ought history, they have a terrible track record, Putin even thinks today he can say what those countries can and cannot do

NATO is definitely more pro-democracy than Russia, people in those countries voted to join the EU and NATO on their own because they aren't going to let Russia bully them, stop insulting the intelligence of the people because you think this is all a NATO power ploy, you aren't thinking from the perspective of the people at all, not economically (EU) or the interest of their safety

as I said it's hard to help an aggressor you have been in nuclear tensions with 40 years, it's unrealistic

also I notice you put "liberation" like you know how life was like in the Soviet Union, mind you we are far more free now than we were then

How does giving Ukrainians weapons make them safer how does prolonging a war through arms shipments ensure safety this war is not going to be won by Ukraine through a military victory no matter how ideally you look at it

And NATO being “more” pro democracy is dodgy when they support TURKEY, ISRAEL, and SAUDI ARABIA. And even then being “more” of something that you aren’t isn’t a good excuse to support a group. We can easily twist this dumb way to stance yourself by asking why you aren’t Pro Russia if they’re more democratic than f***ing Nazis in Ukraine?

And once again, the USSR was not the aggressor in the post- WW2 landscape Russia explicitly didn’t support communism in Italy or Greece to prevent conflict with the west. They even applied to NATO because they thought it was a great idea

It's only this much of a discussion because people are disagreeing with me saying we shouldn't fund them, what are you implying with "what does that say about you"
