If the West really didn’t give a f*** about Russians starving and dying in a capitalist democracy after they liberated them from the “communist oppressors” then wouldn’t that prove that this wasn’t about ideology but about economic power and enforcing hegemony?
And if this was an ideological battle, why would the US directly oppose democratic governments like those in South America while supporting dictatorships that overthrew them?
Your argument is full of holes because you’re defending the entire issue based upon misconceptions you have about the intentions and history of Western capitalism

Cold war was about containing communism. The US did alot of f***ed up s*** to contain it and once that mission was accomplished Russia and the US were great allies according to @ARCADE_GOON
