nah lol, and all my russian/ukrainian professors were saying it wouldn't happen and if it did it would be something small and targeted. i been arguing with coworkers for the past few weeks saying it wouldn't so i def look like a dumbass

but i think what a lot of people didn't consider was the plan of just invading and installing a puppet regime and then leaving, which putin said they want to do (allegedly). trying to occupy the whole country was just so antithetical to putin's whole leadership style until now that i didn't think it was likely. but i guess that's what makes him unpredictable
