I think its less people "hating the west" and more that the west (especially conservative population) have turned on Ukraine.

Countries across the globe are more focused on their own survival at the moment and the spending on Ukraine is a point of concern, then obviously theres some who take that into the extreme and say "Ukraine is bad" now, unfortunately thats the President / VP who took it to the extreme.

Fear, mental decline, rage, revenge mentality, extreme nationalism, desperation can all lead to nuclear war.

Nuclear war almost happened during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962 between US and the Soviet Union. So it's not like it can't happen.

As a matter fact, that situation escalated because Soviet Union put weapons in Cuba, which was very close in proximity to the U.S.

Cooler heads prevailed in that situation but I don't trust politicians to always make the correct decision.

That's why Ukraine joining NATO is problematic. Imagine NATO bases, missiles and weapons so close to Russia. Of course Putin would feel uneasy just like JFK did.

Personally, I wouldn't call people's bluffs in certain situations.
