Not refuting the US didn’t meddle in Ukraine to a degree but pretending Russia wasn’t also doing the same, if not more drastically considering it’s their neighbor, is disingenuous

Both Russia and USA as of late doing a hybrid war in Europe right now to split the continet apart and divide people.

The objective of USA - Russia talk is not just about ending war in Ukraine. How to end the war is directly connected to what USA and Russia would accept as a permissible behaviour in the emerging international order.

For USA and Russia, Zelensky and Europe are obstacles, because they keep promoting rule based international order which are too constraining for them to achieve their national interests. EU thinks USA is conceding, because they think the USA still cares about rule based international order, but they absolutely don’t.

If USA plans to take Gaza, Canada, Greenland and the Panama Canal, they can’t be talking about “rules” and “values.”

That’s the reality the EU needs to wake up to.

Exactly EU should just kick out the US theirselves until we get a democratic leader back.

So they could ride the coat tails of US security and wealth like the other atlanticists while not having to do much to develop strategic, independent foreign and security policy. Fell for our blank promises. How’s that turning out?

At the end of the day they’re still stuck with Russia playing a larger role in their future while US is actively threatening to deprioritize the continent

Yeah, the USA showed to be unreliable tho

In the end, the US empire will crumble. Trump seems to accelerate that process. Europe, as vassal state, might be first, with the help of the USA itself

this is less true now, in fact the divergence between EU and US imperialism with regards to russia and ukraine were primary factors in the war happening in the first place. the US strategy to balkanize the Russian nation is directly at odds with EU imperialism keeping Russia alive (on life support) as a cheap resource periphery.

i don’t see how they’re at odds can’t a balkanized russia still be a cheap resource periphery

I think it’s important to understand that American participation in Ukraine was not one with the same agenda as Russia

Ukraine is far lower on the list of America’s overseas holdings in terms of priority. It’s less developed, more exposed, and less integrated than places like Japan, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Israel, the UK, Germany, etc.

On the contrary, it is the neighbor and primary satellite of Russia. There is massive cultural and economic overlap between the countries and they share a literal border and one of the most important naval access points in Europe. (Sevastopol)

Holding Ukraine is far more important to Russia than the US, considering its position relative to each. And, Ukraine is far more easy to control for Russia than for the US, given how many other satellites each country possesses. Russia was the one who would always be more able and more willing to escalate in the region

America recognized this, and understood from the outset that their objective in Ukraine was never to integrate and develop the nation as a satellite of the Western order. Ukraine is a place where attrition against the Russians could be initiated, as well as Syria. Ukraine was always a warzone and was always intended to be a warzone to the US.

Russia always wanted a stable, developed Ukraine that it could possess and maintain and exploit and protect as an imperial possession. Ukraine has no use to the Americans other than being a meat grinder. It’s important to attach intentions to the degree of meddling each country has in Ukraine.

Like the Russian supporters movement in Ukraine wasn’t funded and encouraged by Russia, no that support was totally organic no collusion

Westernization generally means improved economic conditions why would they possibly want that

Did the Westernization of the post-Soviet sphere improve economic conditions? Did it improve ANY conditions?

Did the Westernization of the post-Soviet sphere improve economic conditions? Did it improve ANY conditions?

For several countries, yes. The most successful cases are the Baltic states and the Central European nations like Poland and Czechia. They have integrated into Western institutions, achieved economic success, and maintain political stability. Latvia, Estonia, Slovakia, are all doing well. Romania and Bulgaria have made significant strides as well.

In fact Estonia has done an amazing job with digitalization, like best in world.

This would be a pretty shocking deal to strike considering the list of nations involved. That's the entire eastern bloc rolled back voluntarily on U.S's part and insane pressure on Europe to fill in. Like i knew negotiations would always have to have a dramatic new architecture for Europe but wow....
